EMPTY BOWLS

Empty Bowls is an internationally recognized event that raises awareness of hunger and hunger-related issues.  Participants keep their handcrafted bowl as a reminder of the millions of bowls that remain empty each day around the world. Locally, funds raised from the event support FISH, (Families and Individuals Sharing Hope). It will be a free will offering and attendees will receive a beautifully handcrafted bowl made by local students in SCOTT COUNTY as well as lunch consisting of soup or chili, bread, refreshments, and dessert.  Attendees will enjoy a relaxed dining experience and the music of local choirs and bands.

FISH PARTNER NETWORK

Our FISH Partner Network works together to connect needs, tackle issues, and build our capacity to assist those in crisis. When an organization doesn’t have immediate access to the necessary resources to help someone who is in need, the FISH Partner Network is their answer. Through our FISH Partner Network our partners have another tool to help them in fulfilling their own organizational mission.

BOWLS:

There is a classroom in Scott County that has a ceramics studio complete with kilns, glazes, and students who are learning how to shape pottery from clay. They make bowls. Not just any bowls, either. They make bowls that, during the month of April, will be filled with soup. The event is called Empty Bowls, and it’s a way these young artists are working to end a growing problem in Scott County with childhood hunger.

The value to the attendees is well worth the donation. Attendees get to choose their own bowls out of the many lovingly made, glazed, and fired by these young artists who are recruited for this event. Their masterpieces will support the cause of feeding many hungry children.  

ENTERTAINMENT:

Throughout the day, local school choirs and bands will entertain guests as they have their soup! Past entertainers include musicians of all age ranges, choirs, bands, individuals, and small groups. The music ranges in style as well. Interested in performing? Contact us here.

SILENT AUCTION:
