Local Government Partners

Why does local government and education partner with FISH?

Publicly-funded programs seamlessly serve many needs in our communities. At times, however, local government partners encounter an obstacle which prevents them from serving their clients; it is then that they may find the resources they need through FISH.

  1. Clients in transition. Imagine working with a client who has a strong lead on a good job but cannot accept it because her car needs repair. As a registered government partner, you can post a need for car repair to the FISH network. Perhaps the need is for household furnishings, adaptive equipment, health-related issues, or physical labor; case managers and social workers get help for their clients through the FISH partner network.
  2. Youth programs and academic needs. School faculty may see students struggling because they lack something in their lives. Whether it is school supplies, extracurricular activities, or appropriate clothing, the counselor or teacher could post the need to the FISH network.
  3. School programs and services. FISH offers both web-based and actual meetings to support the existing services and programs that partners offer for personal development, enrichment, and community-building. Post an event on the FISH calendar to immediately reach a captive audience.
