Connecting Needs
When registered FISH Partners encounter needs that they themselves cannot fill, they can post the need of the individual or family on the FISH network. Once approved by FISH, registered partners can give back by reviewing and determining whether to fill the posted need. There are no fees or costs to the partner organization.
Posting A Need
When a FISH Partner vets a need and posts it for other partners to view and possible fill, they agree to coordinate the meeting of the need.
To increase the responses that you receive for your posted need, you can follow these 4 quick tips:
Tell A Story
It is important to tell the story of the need, including pertinent details about the circumstances.
Have A Plan
Needs which detail a plan for transition following the need being met are stronger than those that don’t.

Prepare For Obstacles
A description of measures taken by the person in need to overcome their obstacles increases responses.
Be On Point
The need should be compelling to read, but should not include irrelevant details which may make the person identifiable.

Filling A NEED
When FISH posts a need that was submitted by a registered FISH Partner, an email is sent to notify the network that a new need has been posted. The email is routed to any partners who indicated the category of the need in their preferences.
