As you’ve probably seen and heard, there is a huge labor shortage right now – this is true across the country, the state of Minnesota, and we are certainly seeing it here in Scott County. Due to somewhat of a “perfect storm” of economic conditions and changing age demographics, this labor shortage is anticipated to impact businesses large and small for quite some time.

Over the past year there has been a collaboration in Scott County between businesses, government, and community talking about ways to work together on developing a new tool that can address the labor shortage issues and help local businesses to better connect with potential employees. The tool is ultimately a centralized hub that will bring together Scott County job openings with information on local housing, transportation, education, and community events/opportunities.

We’d like to invite you to attend an upcoming open house to learn more about how all businesses in Scott County could benefit from turning this tool from an idea into reality, and invite you to consider joining the effort. Support from local businesses is a critical component in making this happen, and the tool will be a better resource if it’s built with more business input.
